You can tell it’s spring at NESAW because cabinets are starting to sprout all over the place! The gang is making great progress on our two kitchens. We should have all the cabinet carcasses done by the end of this week and we have a lot of the lumber rough milled for the face frames and doors. Great job everyone! We hope to have some good stuff to show at our Open House on April 11th..
We’ve started to build the kitchens! This week, the students made good progress. They broke down a total of 42 sheets of pre-finished plywood (a record for us) and rough milled over 500 bd/ft. of lumber. We are overflowing with piles of raw materials. Next week, we start turning it into cabinets. Great job, everyone!
It’s a new school year at NESAW, which means a new group of students! We have group of eleven great students this year. Of course, that also means that our students are building two new kitchens for customers in our local community. The students have been working on their fundamental woodworking skills for the past few weeks and are now moving on to the kitchens. Here, you can see them studying the kitchen plans to create their cut lists.
